Yes, our database-service is only for "registered user". Nearly our full service in this forum is free and for everyone visible. So we think, that our registered user should have a little bit more service. We want to thank them in this way for their participation in this forum. :applaus:

But, by the way....registration is free for all.

Chris' article is absolutely fascinating, full of those detailed bits of information on technique and location that add to one's 'fishing experience'.

There was particularly one observation that had a real personal resonance regarding 'bill-less' Billfish. I recall the second ever Blue we caught in Ascension Island. The crewman, Marty Bates, who I'm sure some of you would have met in Cape Verde over the last couple of years - fishing with Zak Conde on Amelia, thought that it was possibly a 'grander' but the skipper called it '900'. It really didn't matter because the fish was going to be released anyway. But the point was i'no bill' didn't stop it feeding!

I'm sure I have a better picture showing the absence of its bill somewhere. Just need to find it! In the interim here's one of it boatside to illustrate its size.
