Punt Cana, Dominican Republic report

The month of Feb. had some up and down fishing and a lot of Humpback whale sightings. The White marlin started to trickle in around mid Feb, and there are now near daily sightings amongst the boats. The fishing in March has picked up, there have been some blackfin tuna and cero mackerel around, along with the usual wahoo and mahi. We caught 1/2 white marlin last thursday and missed one yesterday. There are 6 or 7 tournaments sch. for Cap Cana this year. I will post more details on them later.

Hi Terry,

Puerto Rico Light Tackle Association Fishing Tournament: May 25-30.

Internationl Cap Cana Shootout: June 1-6.

Cap Cana White Marlin: June 17-19.

Club Nautico de Santo Domingo, Blue Marlin: July 22-24

Cap Cana Classic: August 5-7

Cap Cana Shootout: September 16-18
